North Shore Farmers' Markets
Summer is around the corner and it’s time to get your recycled bags ready for a visit to one of the many local farmers’ markets where fruits and vegetables are picked at the peak of their growing season offering you the freshest and tastiest selections. Farmers’ markets offer plenty of variety giving you the chance to try something new.
The fertile Northshore soil is among the best in the United States and produces foods that are minimally processed and often grown without the use of pesticides, antibiotics, or genetic modification. Locally grown food travels short distances and thus minimizes the carbon footprint.
Farmers’ Markets offer a sense of community and often showcase live music, crafts, and other types of vendors. Supporting local farms helps them earn the capital needed to continue operating and you can learn some great tips and recipes from farmers and fellow patrons.
